PC broken...working from home

by 11. November 2008 16:26

What a unlucky day(s)!  My team lead asked me to move back to my old place as the renovation is over, and guess what?  My desktop broke just by moving it from one spot to the other.  It supposed to be a new one...wth .  I dont mind working from home, in fact, I try to do that at least once a week, but I remote desktop to my work pc; now that its broken, I have to work on my home pc which I dont have anything installed; just an express version of visual studio...that's almost useless.  Yesterday when I call the IT guys, they said that they requested a power supply for my pc, today they are saying that they have sent my pc out.  What could have happened to it?  I'm pretty sure Jin(my coworker who moved my pc) didn't drop it.  I'm so desperate, I need to get things done, its almost mid-Nov and the project is due end of Novemember.  Installing visual studion and ms sqlserver is a headache.  It takes forever! Sigh!

I've finally settled in my new place.  My unit is not on top floors but its got a decent view.  The size its just perfect! Not too large nor too small, just perfect.  Among all the moves I have had, this was the longest and most expensive one.  It costed me over $1000cdn.  That was crazy!  It took me 2 complete days to move and 1 entire week to organize my stuff.  I remember the other times I moved, they were so easy, maybe then I did'nt have too much junk.  Conclusion: moving is over and life has to continue.  I'm so glad I'm done moving since winter is coming and the weather is getting cold.
