Today, I attended to Silverlight on Silver Screen. It was all about Silverlight 3.0 coming out July 2009. I've played with Silverlight 1.0 and thought it was great. Now that I've seen 3.0 in action, I think its fabulous. Just can't wait to create my own apps using Silverlight 3.0. There are so many things on my list that I want to do but never have the time to do them. I tried to commit, then got distracted, or too busy at work, or too much school work or simply forgot about them. I have to start prioritizing my task list. Its just that developing for fun is never on my priority list. I just hope that after on my recovery period after the surgery, I'll have some time to start developing for fun. I can't believe people think programming is a boring job, I personally think its the best career ever. Its limitless the things you can do. Programming is so much fun. It triggers your brain to use more power, enforces more logical thinking.
Today's event lasted for 3+ hours, from 9 am - 12is pm. I had to wake up at 6:30am in order to arrive downtown at 8:30am. Oh man, I haven't been up so early in ages, but it kinda feel good. Despite the short sleep I had last night and a 1.5 hours of yoga, I was able to make without difficulties. Talking about yoga, I've skipped it since school started. Omg, last session was sooooo hard on me. My legs still hurt. I need to be more active as of now on. I'm actually considering practicing on Saturday as well, since I've stopped playing badminton, not because I don't like, but because I don't have a car.....life w/o a car really sucks, but well, its good to my pocket. I really need to save up, in case my sister is coming to study; I'll need to have enough savings to conver her studies. I really hope she can come asap.
Yesterday, I received an email from my team lead asking us for our "Growth Plan Objective". I have so many things I want to do, but I know I need to focus in one direction in order to advance; I need to choose the one that best interested me and what I do best at....but I think I do good at everything, as long as I have the interest. So it was a hard topic. Finally, out of the many things I want to do, I picked leading. But I know in order to be a successful leader, I need to have good communication, therefore I'll focus more on my communication skills. I donno if I really have good leading skills, I might not, but my friends say I do. I've taken lots of personalities quizes and they all say that I belong to the leaders group; not followers. I wonder if that's true. Certainty, I have alot of comments, and ideas, but that's not enough to be a good leader. George Ambler's blog has interesting posts about leadership, very interesting articles for your spare time.
